MBTA Shuttle Bus Diverts Wellington Commuters to Stoneham

An MBTA shuttle bus meant to carry Orange Line riders from Wellington Station to North Station instead drove 10 miles north to Stoneham on Thursday, Aug. 20, before turning around. Passengers told WBZ-TV the driver took back roads and then Interstate 93 north, and that he said he had never been to Boston before; one rider ended up giving him directions. The shuttles are running because of the Orange Line shutdown.
