Liam Murphy, a 10-year-old Medford native and Mystic Valley swimmer, won six individual gold medals in the boys 10-and-under division at the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Des Moines, Iowa, taking the 50 and 100 freestyle, 50 and 100 backstroke, and 50 and 100 butterfly. The week-long meet ran July 28 to Aug. 2 at the Wellmark YMCA Natatorium, a year after he earned eight medals in Houston with a silver in the 100 backstroke as his best finish.
