Rec & Parks Seeks Public Input on Reynolds Field Project
Recreation and Parks commissioners are reconsidering whether the long-planned Reynolds Field project, funded with roughly $3 million left to the town by the late Larz Anderson, should still include refrigerated outdoor ice. Friends of Marblehead Hockey has since announced a $25 million campaign for a year-round indoor rink at the Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA, and the commission could instead move ahead with a covered street hockey rink and improved fields. Commissioners stressed no decision has been made, and residents can weigh in Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Community Center, 10 Humphrey St., and online, or Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 9 a.m., noon or 7 p.m.
