Friends of Marblehead Hockey Launches $25M Rink Campaign
Friends of Marblehead Hockey has launched a $25 million campaign to build an NHL-sized indoor rink and a roughly 100-space parking structure at the Lynch-van Otterloo YMCA on Leggs Hill Road, then donate the facility to the YMCA of the North Shore to own and operate. The arena would attach to the existing Y building and include six locker rooms and a mezzanine seating about 250. Organizers hope to break ground as early as spring 2027, though the property sits in Salem, so permitting would go through that city.
