Malden council backs working group on e-bike and scooter safety

Malden city councilors voted unanimously to form a working group on e-bike and scooter safety, citing frequent crashes and injuries, including on or near the Northern Strand Community Trail. Councillor-at-Large Michelle Luong said she and Ward 5 Councillor Ari Taylor began discussing the issue a year ago and that safety concerns have continued. Ward 6 Councillor Stephen Winslow pointed to electric-powered bikes and devices moving along the busy Pleasant Street sidewalk.
