Top story

Emergency Water Main Work Set for Charles Street Monday

The Malden Engineering Department and M.T. Mayo Corp. begin water main installation on Charles Street and Charles Street Place at 8:30 a.m. Monday, with an eight-hour service shutdown anticipated and the possibility it runs longer. There will be no access in and out of Charles Street Place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., so residents are asked to park on Charles Street or other side streets. Work may shift to the following day in the event of rain; once service returns, run cold water through an outside faucet or tub for several minutes to flush the lines, and call Engineering at 781-397-7040 with questions.
