Lynnfield Faces Projected Deficits, Weighs Property Tax Override

Town Administrator Rob Dolan and Finance Director Dave Castellarin laid out Lynnfield's FY27-FY29 forecast at a Sept. 9 joint meeting of the Select Board and Finance Committee, projecting a $2.09 million deficit in FY28 that grows to $4.42 million in FY29. Officials said closing that gap may require a multi-year property tax override, or cuts to services and staffing. Another override could be on the table as the town begins confronting the roughly $2.1 million gap next year.
