Lynn prepares emergency MWRA connections as reservoirs drop

The Lynn Water and Sewer Commission reported reservoirs at 48.7% capacity, compared with the 67.9% normally recorded at this point in the year and a five-year average of 62.5%. That puts the city in the strictest section of the commission's drought response plan, which calls for enforced water-use restrictions at 49% or lower, and crews are preparing the city's emergency connections to the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. Executive Director James Arsenault said 110 warnings were issued for lawn sprinklers found running in violation of the restriction.
