Neighboring towns urge commuter protections for Lynnway redesign
Marblehead's Select Board voted to join Swampscott and Nahant in sending a letter to Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll and MBTA General Manager Phillip Eng seeking mitigation for commuters during the MBTA's planned Lynnway Multimodal Corridor Project on Route 1A. Select Board Chair Dan Fox said constituents already sit in traffic and asked that the state consider mitigation during construction. Fox also noted the redesign could overlap with bridge construction in Lynn and a new Revere high school being built on 1A across from Wonderland station.
