New England Baroque opens Lexington series with Vivaldi

Conductor Ian Watson brings New England Baroque to the newly renovated Sanctuary at Hancock Church, 1912 Massachusetts Ave., opening an inaugural three-concert series today at 3 p.m. with Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. The period-instrument series continues with Dueling Harpsichords on Nov. 8 and Handel's Messiah on Dec. 19. Watson, associate conductor of Boston's Handel and Haydn Society since 2016, performs with colleagues from that ensemble.

Rain-date Porchfest performance today at Cary Library

After Saturday's nor'easter forced cancellation of Lexington's Porchfest, a rain-date show by guitarist Jason Pratt takes place today, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. on the Cary Memorial Library lawn; the full festival returns Sept. 25, 2027.
