Lexington schools to offer free meals to all students

Lexington Public Schools said Aug. 27 that participating schools will serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all students this year, with the Commonwealth supplementing National School Lunch Program funds regardless of household income. Participating buildings include Bowman, Bridge, Estabrook, Fiske, Harrington and Hastings elementary schools, Diamond and Clarke middle schools, Lexington Children's Place and Lexington High School. The district is still asking families to complete a Meal Benefit Application, which provides data used for school funding and program sustainability; households that qualify for free or reduced-price meals also qualify for Sun Bucks grocery money starting in summer 2026.
