Firefighters union and Town settle long-standing contract dispute

Rob Green, president of Lexington Firefighters Local 1491, announced Aug. 5 that the union and the Town have resolved their long-running contract dispute. In a statement, Green said firefighters continued to answer every call throughout the process and thanked residents who emailed town officials, raised the issue in conversation or offered encouragement on duty. He said the union's focus remains on protecting the lives, property and well-being of everyone who lives, works and visits Lexington.
