Body Found in Fresh Pond, Police and DA Investigating

Cambridge Police and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office are investigating after a body was found in Fresh Pond on Aug. 11, with officials saying preliminary indications are that it had been in the water for an extended period. City spokesman Jeremy Warnick said residents should not be concerned about the city's drinking water, because water from the roughly 1.5-billion-gallon reservoir passes through Cambridge's Water Treatment plant before reaching taps. Police said further information would be released as it becomes available.
