Found Industries opens Cambridge HQ and critical minerals center
Found Industries, an MIT spinout working on domestic critical-materials and energy production, opened its new Cambridge headquarters and the Found Metals Process Development Center on Aug. 7. The facility is meant to scale up laboratory work into industrial processes that run continuously on real-world feedstocks, recovering critical metals such as gallium from existing industrial streams. The ribbon-cutting drew Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll, U.S. Department of Energy Associate Deputy Secretary Alex Fitzsimmons, MIT President Emeritus Rafael Reif and state Undersecretary of Economic Development Zenobia Moochhala; the company will keep a Boston presence for its energy projects.
