Acclaimed wine bar Dear Annie ends dinner service July 31

Dear Annie, the nationally recognized natural wine bar at 1741 Massachusetts Ave., serves its final regular dinner Friday, July 31, before closing for August. Owner Lauren Friel says the restaurant will reopen in September focused on private and bespoke wine events, citing motherhood and personal priorities rather than cash flow. Opened in 2021, the bar earned spots on The New York Times' list of America's 50 favorite restaurants and Bon Appétit's 50 Best New Restaurants in 2022.
