State seizes JP House of Pizza over unpaid taxes

The Massachusetts Department of Revenue shut JP House of Pizza at 775 Centre St., near the Monument, on Wednesday for non-payment of more than $223,000 in withholding taxes, state meals taxes and interest. A Suffolk Superior Court judge gave the department permission to take control of the restaurant in July. The department said it had collected just $2,300 from the restaurant's bank accounts despite collection attempts that began in January 2025.
