MBTA suspends Green Line B, C, D, E service for 9 days

Starting today, the MBTA is suspending Green Line service on all four branches through Aug. 16, including the E branch between Heath Street and North Station. Free shuttle buses will replace trains during the closure. The agency says the nine-day shutdown allows crews to perform signal upgrades in the central Green Line tunnel, where the more than 100-year-old system is being replaced, along with accessibility improvements on the C branch.
