Boston Issues Heat Advisory Through Saturday, Aug. 8

Mayor Wu issued a heat advisory running Thursday, Aug. 6, through Saturday, Aug. 8, with temperatures forecast between 95 and 98 degrees and heat indices as high as 98, with little relief overnight. The National Weather Service issued a matching advisory for the Boston area. The city says cooling resources, BCYF locations and state-owned pools are available, and notes Boston EMS typically sees a 10-15% increase in 911 calls during a heat wave; officials urge residents to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during the hottest hours and check on neighbors.
