44-Unit Residential Building Proposed for South Huntington Ave
JPlain Development LLC has filed plans with Boston's Planning Department to demolish the one-story commercial building at 408 South Huntington Ave. and replace it with a five-story building holding 44 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom rental apartments. Eight units would be income-restricted under inclusionary zoning, and four ground-floor artist dwelling units would have direct street access, alongside bicycle storage, a shared roof deck, a dog run, and 10 screened surface parking spaces at the rear. A virtual public meeting was held August 3, and the comment period on the proposal remains open through August 17, 2026.
