City Manager Proposes 6.9% Property Tax Hike for FY2027

City Manager Yi-An Huang has proposed FY2027 property tax rates of $6.95 per $1,000 of assessed value for residential properties and $16.99 for commercial properties. That is a 4 percent residential increase and a 21 percent commercial increase, for a total rise of a little less than 7 percent. The City Council will vote on the levies Monday, Sept. 28, after total assessed property value fell by about $3 billion for the second year in a row.
