Spindler Confections Opens Inside Leavitt & Peirce

North Cambridge's Spindler Confections opens a satellite shop today inside Leavitt & Peirce, filling the space left when New York-based Fruition Chocolate closed this summer. Owner Paul MacDonald approached Spindler, now in its 10th year, about the spot; the shop will carry its full handmade selection, including assorted bon bons and chocolate-covered caramels, plus a few tourist-oriented items such as lobster-shaped chocolates. Manager Norris Duncan said gourmet chocolates fit Leavitt & Peirce's effort to diversify beyond tobacco.
