Lander Concedes State Senate Primary After Recount
Daniel Lander conceded the Democratic primary for the Suffolk and Middlesex Senate seat to incumbent Sen. William Brownsberger on Thursday afternoon, after a districtwide hand recount left the margin unchanged. Roughly five hours of counting in Cambridge produced no shift in the city's results, where Lander led 1,862 to 1,614 across four precincts. Brownsberger had entered the recount with a 34-vote districtwide lead, 12,291 to 12,257, built on his margin in his hometown of Belmont.
