Decker and MacKay clash over social justice in second debate
State Rep. Marjorie Decker and challenger Evan MacKay sparred over campaign transparency, racial equity and who best serves residents in need at the Cambridge Community Center on Thursday. The event, a rematch of a tight 2024 race for the 25th Middlesex District, drew roughly 150 people and opened with a moment of silence for Xavier Bautista, killed near Sennott Park on July 4. A third candidate event, organized by Cambridge Day, is set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Street Theory Collective in Central Square.
