Gloucester Begins Delivering New Trash and Recycling Carts

Cart deliveries began September 16, and crews are currently working along Thursday's trash route; the city notes each route may take more than one day to finish. Automated collection replaces Purple Bags starting October 1. Residents who received the wrong size cart should call the DPW at 978-325-5600 to schedule a next-day swap, since drivers cannot exchange carts in the field; extra carts that were ordered will arrive after the city-wide rollout is complete.
