DPW Hosts Household Hazardous Waste Day on Western Avenue

The DPW's annual Household Hazardous Waste Day runs today, Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DPW Operations Center, 100 Western Avenue. Residents can drop off items such as oil-based and lead-based paints, pesticides, pool and spa chemicals, gasoline, paint thinners and mercury-containing devices. Latex paint, explosives, ammunition, asbestos and medical waste, including sharps, will not be accepted, and the City asks residents to check the accepted and prohibited materials before they go.
