Councilor Ed Flynn suggests National Guard deployment after stabbings

City Councilor Ed Flynn said Thursday he believes the National Guard could play a supportive role alongside Boston police, arguing the department does not have enough officers. He spoke near North Station, where a man and a woman were hospitalized after a double stabbing Thursday morning; the woman's wounds are not believed to be life-threatening, and investigators believe the man's injuries were self-inflicted. That incident came less than a day after a fatal stabbing at South Station, where no arrest has been made.
