Fatal stabbing at South Station under investigation

Boston police say officers were sent to 675 Atlantic Avenue around 5:33 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a stabbing, which Superintendent Paul McLaughling said happened on an escalator inside the station after an altercation between the suspect and the victim. The victim was found with at least one stab wound and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. No arrests have been made; the large police response temporarily disrupted Red Line service, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them.
