Green Line Shutdowns to Hit Fenway-Area Branches Aug. 8-16

The MBTA will suspend service on all four Green Line branches from Aug. 8 through Aug. 16 to support tunnel signal upgrades, cutting off trains between Kenmore or Government Center and points downtown. Free shuttle buses will replace B, C and D branch service running to Back Bay, where riders can connect to the Orange Line, while the 39 bus replaces the E branch between Heath Street and Back Bay. The 39 and 57 bus routes will be fare-free during the shutdown, with extra buses added to the 39 for capacity.
