Vote-by-mail ballots mailed for Sept. 1 state primary
The Somerville Election Department began mailing Vote-by-Mail ballots on Aug. 11 for the Sept. 1 State Primary, and will keep mailing them as applications are processed. Officials ask voters to return ballots early so staff have time to review the envelope for completeness and contact voters if an issue could keep a ballot from being counted. Completed ballots must be sealed in the ballot envelope with the voter's affidavit signed on the orange envelope, and can be returned by mail or at one of 10 official drop boxes across the city.
