Somerville's Bicycle Riding School marks 40 years of teaching

Somerville's Bicycle Riding School, led by founder Susan McLucas, marked its 40th anniversary Monday. The school and its instructors have taught around 7,000 students ages 5 to 82, some traveling from out of state. McLucas teaches balance first by removing bike pedals, reattaching them once a student can go 60 feet without their feet touching the ground.
