Two-alarm fire on Roberts Road displaces nine residents

Nine people and two dogs were displaced after a two-alarm fire broke out early Thursday, Aug. 13, at a three-family home on Roberts Road, with flames coming from the third floor. Crews under Acting Deputy Chief Joseph Fournier brought the blaze under control in just over an hour, and no injuries were reported. Somerville, Arlington, Belmont and Brookline firefighters provided mutual aid; those displaced were assisted by the Cambridge Fire Department's Office of Emergency Preparedness and the American Red Cross, and the cause remains under investigation.
