Free Guided Bike Rides Available During Red Line Shutdown
With the Red Line closed through July 30, Cambridge's Department of Transportation is offering free guided Community Commuter Group Bike Rides to help people get around. Volunteer ride leaders will guide groups at a leisurely pace along routes passing Alewife, Porter, Harvard, Central, and Kendall squares, using streets with low traffic or separated bike lanes. Riders should also plan for increased road traffic, reduced parking along shuttle routes, and longer waits on sections of the Red Line still running.
