City Council unanimously backs MIT graduate student union
The Cambridge City Council unanimously passed a policy order supporting United Electrical Local 256 graduate workers in their contract fight with MIT. Union president Lauren Chua said the union has faced few bargaining sessions and is frustrated by concessionary proposals that would cut healthcare benefits. The council has issued similar policy orders in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
