Somerville Democrats Endorse Connolly for Reelection

The Somerville Democratic City Committee wrapped a weeklong vote on endorsements for district-level races on the Sept. 1 primary, backing Mike Connolly for reelection in the 26th Middlesex District along with Diann Baylis for governor's councilor in the 6th District and Tara DeCristofaro for register of probate in Middlesex County. Each needed at least three-fifths of the vote from up to 125 participants; Connolly took 72 of 98 votes cast in his race, or 74 percent, to challenger Neil Miller's 6 votes. With few Republicans or others declared for November, the primary will decide many races, though it remains unclear how closely the committee's vote tracks the polls.
