Rebecca Nurse Homestead Appeals for Return of Stolen Artifacts
Operators of the Rebecca Nurse Homestead said Sept. 16 that visitors have removed 17th-century floorboard pieces, chunks of brick and garden plants from the property, and asked that the items be returned. They learned of one case through a Reddit post in which a visitor described taking a loose floorboard piece and bricks. Even material that looks like broken debris can matter for repairs, restoration and research on the historic structure, operators said: "'I found it' doesn't make it yours."
