Power restored after outage hits nearly a third of Concord
A failed power-protection switch on Main Street near the Sudbury River cut power Wednesday morning to 31.3% of Concord Municipal Light Plant customers. The outage forced police headquarters onto backup power and knocked out traffic lights at multiple intersections, and State Police helped direct traffic on Route 2 at Walden Street and Sudbury Road. Police officers were sent to Alcott Elementary and Concord-Carlisle High School to ensure emergency communication, and officials said power was back for all affected areas by 11:25 a.m.
