Rough Seas Suspend MBTA Ferries as Coastal Storm Threat Builds
A coastal storm that could develop into a rare September nor'easter is expected to make landfall Friday evening, with the worst conditions on Saturday: winds up to 50 mph and 4 to 6 inches of rain across Boston and southeastern Massachusetts, according to Globe meteorologist Ken Mahan. The MBTA suspended ferry service from Lynn and Quincy on Wednesday and Thursday, citing rough seas, and harbormasters along the coast are urging boat owners to get their boats out of the water.
