Man hospitalized after explosive device detonates in Charlestown
Officers responded around 1 a.m. Monday to Mishawum and Main streets after a man called 911 saying he did not feel safe, and encountered him holding what he told police was an explosive device, with wires running up around his neck, according to a police report. The device detonated during the confrontation, seriously injuring him; he was taken into custody and then to the hospital and faces explosives charges.
