Wu Proposes $31.5M Tax Breaks to Revive Stalled Housing Projects
Mayor Michelle Wu on Monday proposed $31.5 million in long-term tax abatements for four approved but stalled housing projects, among them the 408-unit One Mystic Avenue development in Charlestown. The breaks would be contingent on developers starting construction within a year, and the city says the 1,400 total apartments would include at least 180 affordable units with no net revenue loss to Boston. A Planning Department board vote is expected in October, with construction targeted for 2027.
