Slate Charlestown Boutique to Close After Seven Years
Owner Lizzy announced September 13 that Slate, the women's boutique at 54 High Street, will close after more than seven years in the neighborhood, following the unexpected sale of the building earlier this summer. She said the new owner does not plan to keep the shop in the space, and the Slate team spent the summer unsuccessfully exploring options to stay in Charlestown. The store, known for its clothing, accessories and monthly book club, says a closing sale will be announced soon.
