Boston awards $1.3M for workforce training programs, including Charlestown Adult Education
Mayor Michelle Wu and the Office of Workforce Development announced Aug. 21 that $1.3 million in Neighborhood Jobs Trust funding will go to 12 community-based organizations, including Boston Housing Authority/Charlestown Adult Education. The grants are expected to serve about 392 residents aged 18 and over with skills training, employer connections and support services, and to help the groups leverage roughly $3.3 million in additional funding. The trust, founded in 1987, is replenished by Jobs Linkage fees so that large-scale development in Boston delivers jobs and training to city residents.

San Gennaro Feast fills North End through Sunday
The San Gennaro Feast runs Aug. 21-23 at Paul Revere Mall and Christopher Columbus Park in the North End, with food from more than 50 North End restaurants, a DJ set by Steven Virgilio and a performance by Russell Thompkins Jr. & The New Stylistics.
