FBI Boston warns of agent impersonation scam spoofing phone number

The FBI's Boston field office says scammers are spoofing the bureau's own phone number when calling residents. Callers then press victims to download an encrypted messaging application, claiming they need to 'investigate' financial fraud. The warning was issued by FBI Boston's public affairs office.
