Orange Line to Shut Down Oak Grove–Back Bay for 11 Days
The MBTA will suspend Orange Line service between Oak Grove and Back Bay, including Charlestown-area stops, from Aug. 20-30 to replace track at Chinatown and upgrade signals at Wellington and North Station. Free, accessible shuttle buses will serve all stations between Oak Grove and North Station, with pickups at New Rutherford Avenue at Austin Street for Community College and the upper busway at Sullivan Square. Riders should budget at least 70 extra minutes for trips such as Oak Grove to Downtown Crossing; the Haverhill Commuter Rail Line will be fare-free between Oak Grove, Malden Center and North Station.
