Archaeologists Discover Revolutionary War Relics at Bunker Hill

The City of Boston Archaeology Program announced Aug. 7 that June excavations at the Bunker Hill Monument uncovered gunflints, musket balls, and defensive trenches tied to the 1775 battle. Archaeologists dug in the monument's southwest and northwest quadrants, working with the Northeast Archeological Resources Program, American Veterans Archaeological Recovery, the National Parks of Boston and other partners. The work is part of a broader effort to better understand the battle in the year marking its 251st anniversary.
