Charles River Algae Advisory Lifted

State health officials have ended the cyanobacteria advisory on the Charles River after 33 days, reopening it for recreation. Follow-up samples the Massachusetts Department of Public Health collected Monday at three locations showed concentrations below department guidelines at all three. The advisory was called Aug. 21, and officials announced on Aug. 27 that the bloom had expanded.
