Lamplighter Brewing plans move to worker ownership

Founders AC Jones and Cayla Marvil told employees in a Sept. 14 round of meetings that they plan to convert the brewery, which has around 60 employees, into a worker-owned cooperative starting next month. Lamplighter opened in 2016 in a former auto repair shop on Broadway in The Port and added the Lamplighter CX taproom at Cambridge Crossing in February 2022. Marvil said in a company email that the couple began exploring an ownership transition to employees in 2022 as they thought about stepping away from the day-to-day business.
