Cambridge Holds Citywide 9/11 Remembrance Ceremonies Today
Marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, Cambridge's Emergency Communications, Fire, and Police departments hold a joint ceremony at 8:30 a.m. outside the Robert W. Healy Public Safety Facility at 125 Sixth Street, with a presentation of colors, the national anthem, remarks from City Manager Yi An Huang and Assistant Fire Chief John Cotter, a ceremonial bell ringing, bagpipes, a wreath laying, and moments of silence. Food and beverages follow the hour-long ceremony, and all community members are welcome. At 9:50 a.m., every Cambridge firehouse holds a brief 10-minute synchronized ceremony open to the public.
