Cormier Road Speeding Concerns Prompt Call for Traffic Calming

Cormier Road residents told the Select Board about a longstanding speeding problem and pedestrian-safety concerns, and they have petitioned the town's Safety Committee to study installing speed tables. Assistant Town Administrator Patrick Lawlor said the road's recent repaving could delay that work, because the town generally avoids disturbing newly paved roads for five years. The board left the speed-table hearing open until October 19 and asked town staff to explore near-term measures, including more police patrols.
