Burlington Police Lieutenant Placed on Leave After Domestic Assault Arrest
Burlington police said Monday that Lt. Peter Abaskharoun was placed on paid administrative leave following his arrest on charges of assault and battery on a family or household member and witness intimidation. He was arraigned in Woburn District Court Tuesday morning. The department said the allegations "do not reflect the mission or values of our department" and that it is committed to a thorough and impartial review; the state POST Commission says Abaskharoun remains certified as a police officer at this time.
