Town Commits $4M to Preserve Brookline Village Affordable Housing

The Select Board voted Tuesday to commit $4 million from the town's Affordable Housing Trust Fund to support WinnCompanies as it seeks state and federal financing, largely tax credits, for a renovation at 99 Kent Street, where all but two of the 117 units are reserved for low-income residents over 55 paying below-market rents. The existing tax credits supporting the building expire at the end of 2027. Winn also plans to renovate 59 affordable apartments in the family housing portion of its Village at Brookline development.
